On this day in 2018, while driving to work, I had the idea of a little hashtag game for fic writers. There were plenty of these for original fiction, but I felt awkward participating as a fic writer and figured I wasn't the only one. We started that same afternoon as a "what are you working on?" hashtag event on Wednesdays that expanded to a Q&A, moved to Saturdays, moved to Sundays, and eventually went on hiatus when we launched the event series.

I didn't imagine we'd grow beyond the hashtag game, certainly didn't expect we'd be hanging out eight years later. To everyone who has been here since the start, and to everyone we've met along the way, thanks for making fandom a little brighter!

Some things can’t be done alone. Maybe it’s a project that needs multiple pairs of hands to make it work, maybe it’s a long-term quest to save the world that’s going to require a lot of people and a lot of skillsets, or maybe it’s as simple as a cat that needs at least two people to corral her into a carrier to go to the vet; whatever it is, it’s going to need some people to work together.
